Refund & Cancellation Policy

Plain-language summary: For monthly and Basic plans, we offer a 48-hour refund window from the time of your first purchase. For annual plans (12-month), the window is extended to 7 days. In both cases, refunds are conditional on minimal use of the service. After the window closes, no refunds are issued — but if we suspend or terminate your account without cause, you receive a pro-rated refund for unused days. 1 Scope

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all purchases made on the CareerARIA platform operated by Nitpeak Technologies Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). It governs all paid subscription plans — Basic, Starter, Pro, and Unlimited — purchased directly through our website using Razorpay as the payment processor.

By completing a purchase on CareerARIA, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this policy.

2 Free Plan

The Free plan is available at no cost. No payment is collected, and therefore no refund is applicable. You may downgrade to the Free plan at any time without charge.

3 Paid Plans — Refund Eligibility

The refund window depends on your billing cycle. A refund may be granted if all of the following conditions are met:

All refund requests must additionally satisfy all of the following:

  • You have not made substantial use of the service (see Section 4).
  • This is your first purchase of that plan. Refunds are not available on renewal payments or plan upgrades.
  • Your account is in good standing and has not violated our Terms of Service.

Annual plan exception: If CareerARIA suspends or permanently terminates your account for reasons not attributable to your violation of our Terms of Service, you are entitled to a pro-rated refund for the unused days remaining in your annual subscription period, regardless of the 7-day window.

4 What Counts as Substantial Use

Because CareerARIA is an AI-powered service, each request incurs real compute and API costs on our end. "Substantial use" means any of the following have occurred on your account after the purchase:

  • More than 5 AI-generated outputs across any combination of modules (Resume Analysis, Cover Letter, LinkedIn Optimizer, Interview Simulator, ARIA Chat).
  • Downloading or exporting any AI-generated document (PDF, DOCX, etc.).
  • Accessing premium features that are exclusively available on paid plans and not on the Free plan.

Usage is tracked automatically in our system and will be referenced when evaluating your refund request.

5 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings page.

Monthly, Quarterly & Half-Yearly Plans

  • Cancellation takes effect immediately — access to paid features stops at the moment of cancellation.
  • Your account reverts to the Free plan. Your data is retained.
  • No refund is issued for unused days within the current billing period, unless you are within the 48-hour refund window (Section 3).

Annual Plans (12-Month)

  • You may cancel at any time, but your subscription remains active until the end of your 12-month period — you retain full paid access through the period you have paid for.
  • After the period ends, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan. It will not renew.
  • No partial or pro-rated refund is issued for unused months after the 7-day refund window has passed, except in the circumstance described in Section 3 (we suspend or terminate your account without cause).
Note: Cancellation prevents future charges and stops auto-renewal. A refund request is a separate action — submit one within the applicable window (48 hours for monthly/quarterly/half-yearly, 7 days for annual) if you qualify under Section 3.

6 How to Request a Refund

  1. Email support@careeraria.com with the subject line: "Refund Request — [Your Order ID]"
  2. Include your registered email address, your Razorpay Order ID (found in your payment confirmation email), and a brief reason for the request.
  3. Our team will verify your purchase date, usage, and eligibility within 2 business days.
  4. If approved, the refund is initiated to your original payment method. See Section 7 for timelines.

Requests submitted after the applicable window (48 hours for monthly/quarterly/half-yearly; 7 days for annual plans) or without the required information will not be processed.

7 Refund Processing & Timeline

Approved refunds are processed through Razorpay and credited to the original payment method (credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking, or wallet). Typical timelines after approval:

These timelines are governed by Razorpay and your bank. CareerARIA is not responsible for delays caused by your financial institution. If your refund has not appeared within 10 business days of approval, please contact us.

8 Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be granted in any of the following circumstances:

  • Request submitted after the applicable refund window (48 hours for monthly/quarterly/half-yearly plans; 7 days for annual plans).
  • Substantial use of the service as defined in Section 4.
  • Renewal or manual re-subscription payments (regardless of billing cycle).
  • Unused months remaining in an annual plan after the 7-day window has passed — the annual commitment is for the full 12-month period.
  • Purchases made during a promotional offer, coupon, or discounted campaign — unless otherwise stated in the offer terms.
  • Account suspended or terminated due to violation of our Terms of Service.
  • Refund request made for a reason within your control (e.g., forgetting to cancel before renewal, changing your mind after the applicable window, incorrect plan selected where the correct plan was available).
  • Issues arising from third-party services (internet outages, device problems, browser compatibility).

9 Disputes & Chargebacks

We strongly encourage you to contact us at support@careeraria.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most issues can be resolved quickly and amicably.

If a chargeback is initiated without first contacting us:

  • Your account may be suspended immediately pending investigation.
  • We reserve the right to provide transaction evidence, usage logs, and correspondence to Razorpay and your bank to contest the chargeback.
  • Chargeback fees levied by payment processors may be recovered from you if the dispute is resolved in our favour.

This policy is without prejudice to your statutory rights under the Indian Consumer Protection Act, 2019. If you believe your statutory rights have been violated, you may approach the appropriate consumer forum.
